	Dave Stamboulis was born in 1962 in Athens, Greece, grew up in Berkeley, California, and has called Japan, Nepal, the United Kingdom, and the isle of Crete home at various times. He has taught English as a second language overseas, been a bicycle tour guide, instructed mountaineering, and picked organic strawberries for a living, amongst other things. Dave now resides in Bangkok, Thailand, freelance writing between adventure travel stints. Stamboulis has traveled extensively, from Asia to Africa to Latin America, predominantly via self-propelled transport, and reckons he will never stop doing so, as long as there is an adventure to be had, and a story to be told.
